“Going Green” doesn’t just mean supporting the Philadelphia Eagles! We at JILLY’S take green to a whole new level with our continued commitment to keeping Ocean City, New Jersey a safe, clean, and environmentally-friendly place for generations to come.
As part of this ongoing effort, JILLY’S continues to seek out new and innovative ways to protect our environment and preserve our natural resources.
REUSE
Jilly's has created several reusable cup programs at our 2 food store; Jilly's French Fry Factory & Jilly's Ice Cream Factory. The most popular is our 32oz reusable Fry Bucket.
As an incentive for our customers to purchase the plastic bucket, we offer a life long refill price that is 40% cheaper than if the same size were purchased in a paper bucket.
We also offer a 32oz plastic lemonade thermos that has a 50% discount on refills. To date, these 2 programs have been extremely successful for not only fulfilling customers craves for our lemonade and fresh-cut fries, but for saving tens of thousands of paper cups. We have also instituted the reuse of many other items such as the back sides of printed paper, rechargeable batteries and of course reusable shopping bags available at all of our retail stores.
Even our used cooking oil is reused as a fuel for specially made motors.
RECYCLE
Not only is it better on the cost, but its even better on the environment. That is why Jilly's has been using recycled hand drying towels, napkins, paper towels, and printing paper for the past several years. All of our restroom facilities, offices, and retail counters use recycled product.
We have even begun to use paper cups that have been made from recycled product. Jilly's is also 100% committed to the recycling of every card board box that arrives from our suppliers. With thousands of boxes arriving at our doorstep every season, we are happy to say that ALL of them are broken down for recycle.
REDUCE
Let's just say that the only paper we have no interest in reducing is that green paper which keeps us in business.
Jilly's feels that one of the best ways to really help keep our environment clean is to reduce waste. We have installed some great programs to reduce the waste of many paper products All of our faxes are sent through an email, rather than waste paper on a traditional fax machine. All of our company reports are saved on a network rather than on printed paper. We have reduced the size of our store receipts and even eliminated signed credit card receipts in 2 of our stores. The signature is now captured in the computer system and saved electronically rather than on paper. Most of all, Jilly's requests paperless statements from every company we purchase products from.
The results of Jilly's efforts to Reuse, Recycle & Reduce are absolutely noticeable. The effort has not only saved our company thousands of dollars, but has also brought awareness to our employees and suppliers. It ultimately brings them to continue these efforts outside of their work and into their personal lives as well. It is our commitment to continue to find ways and do our part to keep Ocean City the most amazing beach in New Jersey.
